Fellowship Overview

The Comparative Health Care Fellowship at HSG offers a unique opportunity for professionals with advanced degrees to apply their expertise in analyzing international health care systems. This part-time, 6-month fellowship is designed for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of comparative health care models and contribute to actionable strategies that promote value-based care and health care equity.

Fellows will focus on evaluating health care systems internationally, identifying best practices, and supporting HSG’s clients in navigating value-based care transitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and comparative analysis of international health care systems.

  • Examine trends in value-based care, payment models, and population health strategies.

  • Develop benchmarks and frameworks to evaluate health care system performance.

  • Collaborate with HSG consultants to translate research findings into actionable insights.

  • Monitor and summarize policy developments impacting value-based care and health care equity.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required in public health, health care administration, health policy, economics, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into practical insights.

  • Familiarity with health care systems, policy frameworks, and value-based care initiatives.

  • Excellent communication skills, including professional writing and presentation abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Proficiency in Google Suite.

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous work or internship experience in health policy, public health consulting, or comparative health care research.

  • Knowledge of international health care systems.

  • Exposure to strategic planning or consulting environments.

Compensation

This is a paid fellowship. The Fellow will receive a total payment of $12,000 over 6 months and a monthly payment of $2,000.

*The selected applicant will work as a subcontractor. This means the applicants must have an established entity for tax purposes, such as an LLC, sole proprietorship, or an international equivalent. A Certificate of Good Standing (COGS) confirms that a business meets state/country-specific licensing and regulatory requirements and complies with the law.
