A Note From WAVE’s Founder, Juliette Price

“Value based care is the future of health care delivery all around the world—point blank. As we move away from fee-for-service health care towards a system that rewards positive health outcomes, the transition will require all the component parts of the delivery system to make bold choices, strategic investments, and important decisions.

To do this, we need everyone at the table. Women cannot be left out of this seismic wave of change in health care.

Representation of women in health care decreases across the seniority ladder—women make up 75% of entry level roles and yet only 32% of c-suite roles. Women of color are even less represented, only 4% of c-suite executives are women of color. Similarly, 32% of board members in health care are women; only 8% are  women of color.

The move to value based care will create new roles, opportunities, ventures, executive and board positions. Women must be prepared for these roles to grow our representation in the health care sector.

By bringing together women who are working—or seeking to work—in value based care, WAVE seeks to increase the representation of women in the value based care space by providing networking, peer mentoring, and learning to ensure women are ready and able to take the opportunities being created by value based care.

Let’s work together to create a WAVE of change.”
